Inspired by the Chinese ancient poem"采菊东篱下，悠然见南山" (While picking asters 'neath the Eastern fence, my gaze upon the Southern mountain rests).
This poem was written by Tao Yuanming (365- 427), also known as Tao Qian or T'ao Ch'ien, who was born during the Eastern Jin dynasty. His poetry influenced China's most famous poets including Du Fu.
This ring is made of sterling silver as the fence, 18ct gold formed the mountain range and the chrysanthemum is made of fine silver. The ring band is approximately 1cm wide. The flower petals project 5 millimetres and reflect the light beautifully.

I created the 'cracked earth' effect by sawing pieces from a silver sheet and soldering them on to the solid silver base before shaping into the ring. I hammered the silver to form variances in the surface to enhance its light-reflective qualities.
This ring is suitable for both men and women - the last two images are versions suitable for women.
1.1 cm width one needs to be hallmarked because the weight is over the exemption limit. Therefore, the price is significantly higher than the other two.
The 6mm width one weighs 5.2g.

It's tricky to achieve a perfect result using red coloured vitreous enamel but this ring is worth the effort. I hope you will love the contrast of the red and silver.
